Just a heads up - I am about to advertise a full time post for a research software engineer / infrastructure developer here at the University of Liverpool.
The post will be at Grade 7 (£39,105 - £45,163) for up to two years, or depending on experience hired at Grade 8 (£46,485 - £58,596) for just over 1 year.
The post holder will work in collaboration with our regional, national and international research partners across projects contributing to the North West NHS Secure Data Environment and other NHS SDEs, DARE UK / HDR UK frameworks for UK Trusted Research Environment (TRE) Federated Analytics and EU Horizon programme funded projects including ATHLETE.
We are looking for someone with:
- Experience in infrastructure development/management with a desire to further develop DevOps expertise. Prior experience could include e.g. Linux server administration, database usage, containerisation.
- An understanding for the need for openness and transparency in the field of health innovation. An interest in the ethical use of healthcare data.
- An interest in contributing to an international, open-source software community.
Responsibilities will include contribution to the development and advancement of DataSHIELD infrastructure including (but not limited to):
- the adoption of (inter)national standards relevant for federated analytics.
- Creating new releases of the software.
- Developing new software tests.
- Assessing the quality of new code.
- Developing new privacy preserving functions.
