Working towards the v5 release

Hi all,

we are working towards the v5 release and have started to put together some notes on what we are doing and what you might expect from it. Of particular note is some high level information about the release (including new dependencies):

https://data2knowledge.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/DSDEV/pages/659652609/v5.0.0+-+Pre-release+info

and an explicit list of the functions that will be in v5 (and what package they will be in) (compiled by @intGREen ):

https://data2knowledge.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/DSDEV/pages/707297281/DataSHIELD+functions+in+v5

We plan to start merging everything in a test branch in a couple of weeks, we will let you know when we have a release candidate ready and you can have a go with it.

Cheers,

Olly

Hi all,

we are pretty close to this being ready now. Everything has been merged into the dsBase and dsBaseClient packages at:

Have a go at installing them!

For the client side you will need something like:

devtools::install_github(repo=‘datashield/dsBaseClient’, ref=‘master’)

And the server side package can be added via the opal GUI.

In both cases you will need to uninstall all of the other DataSHIELD packages though (i.e. dsStats, dsModelling, dsGraphics, dsBase on the server, and the equivalent packages on the client).

Let us know how you get on.
