Version 5 released

Hi Mariona,

yes, dsBetaTest has gone away from the obiba cran. Like Yannick says you can install it with the devtools function with something like

devtools::install_github(repo=‘datashield/dsBetaTestClient’, ref=‘master’) and the GUI in Opal. I would recommend against this in the short term (next week or so) as we have moved all the completed functions to dsBase and dsBaseClient, so I am not 100% certain that what is left is entirely functional. Out of interest, is there anything in dsBetaTest that you currently want to use (this information will help us prioritise moving it into dsBase etc).

Have a look at

https://data2knowledge.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/DSDEV/pages/659652609/Version+5.0.0

for some extra info on how some functions have changed see:

this hopefully will help you if you need to edit some existing scripts.

Thanks,

Olly

Hi Olly,

I remember that in dsBetaTest there was the function ds.glmSLMA.o() that I wanted to try but I see it is now listed in dsBase 5.0.0

By the way, we have ap arter trying to install it on their server but have an earlier Opal version (no “delete all” button) and whilst they could remove the packages one by one, there is one that cannot be uninstalled (dsBetaTest 0.2.0: see screen shot attached). I asked them to upgrade their Opal and asked me how to do it.

What do you think the problem might be?

Best,

Mariona

Hi Mariona,

I’d suggest pressing the remove button then going immediately to look at the opal log file, that should give you more info on what is going wrong. Upgrading to the newest version of Opal is certainly a good idea too.

Thanks,

Olly
