The attendance at the DataSHIELD Drop-in have been slow dropping. Currently it is unusual to have more that Demetris and myself.
I am looking for ideas about how to revitalize the DataSHIELD drop-in, change of time, change in structure, …? Any ideas or observations?

Hi Stuart thanks for the reminder. Although not a user of any system like DS currently, I think of applications now and then and recognise the importance of DS. I suspect any sort of current overview for comparing systems is out of scope of Wednesday am (and would get out of date), but saw a 10min overview of this JAMIA Open, 2024, 7(2), ooae040 infrastructure for secure data sharing: a clinical data implementation | JAMIA Open | Oxford Academic [1] and wondered if among what it does not offer is analytics in R .
sent in hope of being constructive not critical. Rollo

Hi, I’m not currently actively using DataSHIELD (I was using it for a pilot project a while ago), so wouldn’t have questions myself but would potentially be interested in learning from others as I might still use it in the future. For me, it’s simply that the time doesn’t work (I’m in Canada), and realistically I’m also unlikely to drop in on a session unless there happens to be a known topic of interest. Not sure if that helps, but I do appreciate the idea of the drop-in sessions! Cheers, Tina
I am wondering if we change this to a monthly drop-in and advertise this for new people/those wanting to initiate DataSHIELD/those that are grant writing. We can then direct all enquiries in this area to the monthly drop in. I currently have 3 enquiries - when is the next drop in session planned?
Recca, I have been continuing to have a weekly Drop-In at 09:00-10:00 BST(GMT) on Zoom.
Due to a requested meeting from a study for help, this week’s will be postponed.
