We are happy to announce the 2024 DataSHIELD Conference in Bonn from September 24-26 - open for registration and abstract submission now!

This conference is suitable for anyone interested in using or applying the DataSHIELD software. We bring together both new and experienced DataSHIELD users as well as those that develop new statistical methodology, functionality or infrastructure for DataSHIELD. We are looking forward to contributions covering a comprehensive array of topics, including but not limited to the diverse DataSHIELD application areas (epidemiology, oncology, radiology, immunology.), the use of DataSHIELD in different projects and settings around the world, advancements in federated machine learning and mathematical/computational modelling as well as privacy aspects in data analysis.

We are particularly looking forward to Paul Burton, one of the DataSHIELD founders, who will be giving a retrospective and outlook on DataSHIELD. A welcome reception, social event and conference dinner complement the scientific program and will provide plenty of opportunities for discussions and networking.

Adjacent to the conference, we offer two workshops: One for DataSHIELD beginners, and one for advanced users on introducing how to develop new DataSHIELD packages.

We are looking forward to your contributions and registrations: abstract submissions until May 31, registrations until July 31. We offer reduced rates for students and PhD students.

Please submit your abstracts for the conference! They need to be uploaded as a PDF (maximum 3000 characters including blanks) using the following form:

Deadline: May 31, 2024 (yes, that’s not very far away!)

I was just in the process of getting my DataSHIELD Abstract ready when I saw that the deadline has been moved to the 14th June. Can someone confirm that?

Abstract submission extended to 14th June

The annual DataSHIELD conference will be taking place in September in Bonn - registration for the conference is now open! Building on the success and experience of previous years, we have a packed programme planned with keynotes, presentations, plenary discussion and two workshops for both beginners and advanced users. Delegates from previous years have appreciated the ability to discuss with peers, gain new insights into DataSHIELD’s potential and to hear of new developments. We look forward to welcoming you to the beautiful University of Bonn!
